Dockplate (Handles, Curbs and Castors Sold Separately)

Selecting the right Dockplate for your application:

• Step 1: Establish the maximum height differential between vehicle floor level and dock. Note: The maximum recommended height differential is the maximum differential possible with the ramp at 7° (12.5%), the maximum possible is the absolute maximum the ramp will achieve whilst maintaining secure location/ positioning in the vehicle. Some equipment may require gradients less that 7 degrees for example manual or certain types of powered pallet trucks. Equipment with low underclearances may also require lower gradients or bespoke boards. If the height differential required is greater than a Dockplate can achieve, it can be paired with a Dockplate Ramp.
• Step 2: Select a Dockplate width. What are you using it for? What width is required? In accordance with BS EN 1398:2009, the minimum width should be 700mm wider than the track width of the equipment being used, unless restricted by your loading facilities and measures are taken to prevent operator and equipment from falling.
• Step 3: Determine the maximum total load. What are you using it for? What load will it carry? This determines whether a Dockplate or a Dockboard would be best for you.
• Extras: Establish if any extra are required:
  • Fork Truck Lifting Handles (FTH-1), recommended for moving Dockplates weighing 40Kg or more.
  • Side Curbs with Castor for easy movement (SCC-2), allow the plate to be lifted onto its side and wheeled for positioning.
  • Fixed Span Locking Legs (FSL-1), recommended if the gap between the vehicle and loading dock is greater than 150mm.

Typically for use with pallet trucks, sack trucks, roll cages and pedestrian access.
